The Residence
The Markers residence in Southern Pines is named the "Stewart" in honor of Payne Stewart who made a dramatic 18th hole putt that led to victory in the 1999 US Open at the revered #2 Course.
The architecture of the Stewart Residence at National Golf Club draws on the eclectic flavor reminiscent of the homes found within the historic village of Pinehurst. These Victorian and New England influences incorporate dramatic rooflines and gables, dormers and shutters. Inside, every bedroom is a Master complete with king bed, entertainment center and bathroom. And to accommodate any mood and every season, both indoor and outdoor fireplaces have been designed into the residence.
This 4-bedroom/5-bathroom residence also includes a great room featuring high-speed Internet access, fax machine and laser printer for those who can't entirely leave their work behind and, of course, a state-of-the-art entertainment center including a big screen TV and DVD player with surround sound. You'll find the kitchen fully equipped and, on the deck, a stainless steel Viking grill.
For a round of golf or entertainment, your personal concierge will take care of reservations for tee times, dining, event tickets and even arrange for all of your favorite items to be stocked in the kitchen prior to your arrival. National Golf Club also features the beautiful Swim and Tennis Club with a junior Olympic swimming pool, 5 championship Har-Tru tennis courts, its own pro shop, lockers and a spacious lounge.
The Experience
The Stewart Residence is situated on the 5th green at National Golf Club, the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in the area, and located just minutes from two of the most historic villages in the area. This 18-hole course features wide fairways, meticulously maintained course conditions, and undulating putting surfaces that test every aspect of your game. As a member of The Markers, you will have full National Golf Club membership privileges every time you are in residence - all of your rounds of golf, driving range and balls and clubhouse privileges are included.
Discounted tee times have also been negotiated at many of the area's favorite public courses, including Pine Needles, Mid Pines, Talamore, Legacy Golf Club, Tobacco Road, Little River, Anderson Creek, The Carolina, The Pit, and Longleaf.
